If you have not been able to submit your company accounts on time and as a result, have received a penalty from Companies House, you can appeal this by emailing enquiries@companieshouse.gov.uk 

Your email should include the penalty reference number (which can be found on the front page of the penalty) along with the company name and number and explanation, detailing how you were unable to submit these due to the coronavirus. 

Companies House have confirmed the late filing penalties team are dealing with high volumes of appeals and correspondence however you can still expect a response within 20 working days and that in the meantime, all recovery action will remain on hold.

Companies House previously confirmed that companies issued with a late filing penalty due to COVID-19 will have appeals treated sympathetically.
