As expected, the government has announced that those who are self-employed who have been adversely affected by the Coronavirus will be able to claim a second, and final, grant in August. This grant will be worth 70% of their average monthly trading profits for three months, paid out in a single installment, capped at £6,570. The criteria for the second grant will be the same as the first grant.
However, you do not need to have claimed the first grant to claim the second – so this would be the case where the business had not been affected by the virus beforehand but has been recently.
